Winter Etiquette Tips:
Stay hydrated. Remember to drink plenty of fluids, especially when shoveling snow or participating in winter sports (snow tubing, skiing, playing in the snow, etc.)
Dress for the winter. Wear layers that can be added or removed and wear well-fitting waterproof boots to keep feet warm, dry and blister-free.
Snow Removal: Snow on your property is your responsibility. Also, remove snow from fire hydrants on or near your property. Make sure your mailbox is clear.
Clean all snow off your car before you start driving. Ensure that the roof and front and rear bumpers are clear and lights are visible.

10 Winter Safety TIPS to remember…
- Have your fireplace chimney inspected and flue inspected each year and cleaned if necessary.
- Never put gasoline in a kerosene heater.
- Never drape anything over a space heater.
- Never leave children in a room alone when a space heater is in use.
- Never leave a snow blower unattended when it is running.
- Never leave candles unattended.
- For long car trips, keep food, water, extra blankets, and required medication on hand.
- Don't sit in a parked car with the engine running unless a window is open.
- Do not let your car run while parked in a garage.
- If you get sick, stay home.
